2019 Girl's Varsity Soccer Athlete of the Season
Lauren is the starting goalie for Groveton High School's Varsity Girl's Soccer Team. Lauren has always been known by the soccer nickname, LT, and is widely known for her aggression on the field. Despite that, she is one of Groveton's kindest, and selfless people. Lauren has worked with 4-H her whole life, anywhere from showing sheep at the local fair or visiting other states to show them! Lauren is also the only Junior Leader in our county to have created her own 4-H club for youth in our community. Lasty, she is the New Hampshire 4-H State Youth Leadrership Team President. Groveton High School is honored to have such amazing students and team players. Being able to recognize just one student was not easy, but the GHS student body believes that Senior, Lauren Tyler deserves to be Player of the Season for 2019!

A message from her Coach-
Lauren has taken over the pivotal role of goalkeeper this season and is excelling. Game after game she sacrifices her body for the success of the team, unafraid to collide with a rushing opponent to prevent the score. She averages nearly 30 saves a game; it's been because of her that we have been competitive against shot-heavy teams like Colebrook and Canaan-Pittsburg. She has improved dramatically since her first attempt at the position, and dedicated herself to the team in a way she hasn't in the past. Typically, she is absent for a couple of weeks during soccer season as she is very much involved with national competitions regarding the animals she cares for and 4-H. This season, she made the tough decision (on her own without pressure from her coaches) to skip the competitions and remain in town to compete with her soccer team, for the sake of the team. I commend her for her dedication, especially when she gave up something she cares for near and dear to be there for her teammates. Lauren is very deserving of this recognition. -Coach Cassady
