Mrs. Patricia Dugan-Henriksen

I teach Middle School Science (grades 6, 7 and 8) at Groveton High School.  I started my NH teaching career as a long-term math substitute in Groveton over thirty years ago! Since then, I've taught Junior High Science and Math at Berlin Regional Catholic School in Berlin, NH, worked for the USDA Forest Service providing Visitor Information Services, and coordinated programs for girls and supervised adult volunteers for Girl Scouts. I've been privileged to have wonderful experiences and opportunities over the years, but when I thought about what I really wanted to do, it is to share my love of Science with students.  I am so excited that my students participate in numerous community partnerships with the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Mount Washington Observatory, NH Department of Fish and Game, St. Olaf College and White Mountain Science, Inc.

I also coordinate the after-school mobile STEM program with White Mountain Science, Inc. where students in grades 3-6 helped by older students explore a variety of STEM activities from building robots to coding to creating obstacle courses.

I live in Lancaster, NH with my husband Jon and two children Gopi and Sukeshini.  In my spare time, I love working with the Colonel Town Players community theatre organization, working in my garden, reading and taking walks in the woods.

I was recently asked “Where do you see yourself in five years?” My answer? “Right here. There’s no place I’d rather be.”
