Personal Note

Growing up in the small, rural community of Groveton had profound effects on the paths I have chosen in life. Though I absolutely enjoy visiting larger communities such as New York City and Boston for short periods of time, when I am away from home for more than a couple of weeks I long for the community that I call home.

Finding a small college community was a priority when I graduated from Groveton High School in 1979. Coming from a family of teachers and parents who believed in the importance of education, I ventured to Plymouth State College where I pursued a career as an elementary school teacher. I have spent the past 35 years of my life working with children in the North Country as a classroom teacher, school counselor, and as the Groveton Elementary School principal. My first two years in public education were in Pittsburg, NH, but the past 33 years of my career have been spent working with children and families in the community I love and call home, Groveton.

When I am not busy with my Groveton Elementary School family, I enjoy spending time with my husband. Dan and I like to watch soccer, travel, snowshoe, bowl, play miniature golf, visit with Dan's mother and our siblings, and spend time with our four children (Ben, Pam, Domi, & Julius) and our thirteen grandchildren.
