Kindergarten and First Grade Teacher
Stark Village School
When you enter the doors of Stark Village School, the sense of school community is overwhelmingly impressive. The small school environment fosters happy, well-adjusted students. I love the enthusiasm, joy and laughter that is evident on the faces of the students as they start their school day. I also marvel at how students in older grades support, encourage and play with younger students. Each day, this atmosphere of learning and kindness strengthens my drive to empower students to reach for dreams that are made possible through education. It is my great passion to seek and explore multiple approaches to teaching to provide differentiated instruction to help each child reach their greatest potential. My students continually surprise me with what they are capable of accomplishing!
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Vermont with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I began a 28 year career at I.B.M where I worked in various jobs that sharpened my attention to detail and analytical skills. I began working in the educational field nine years ago when we moved permanently to Maidstone Lake where we had owned a camp for 18 years. I am starting my sixth year of teaching in the classroom at Stark Village School; previously I substitute taught for one year in multiple area schools, worked one year as a special educational para in North Stratford Elementary School and two years as a Title One instructor in Stark Village School. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, boating, hiking, reading, snowmobiling and spending time with my husband, two children, son-in-law and two grandchildren. I also treasure the visits at the lake from extended family members and friends.
