Stark Family Letter 2021

August 20, 2021

Dear Stark Village School Families,

The Summer of 2021 has practically flown by and in a little more than a week on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, our students will return to school for the 2021-2022 school year, so I wanted to reach out with a few updates to help us all get ready.

First, I want to welcome our new staff.  Ms. Carrie Wentworth joins us as our school secretary and paraeducator, taking over the reins from Billie Jo Sabine who will be working full time at the Passumpsic Bank in Groveton.  Carrie is excited to be at our school and we are thrilled she will be in the main office every day.  Mr. Murray Rogers joins us as our new custodian, taking over for Brad Jewell who retired in June, and

Ms. Danielle Adams will be our new Art teacher.  Amanda Wetherbee (K-1),

Kelly Jewell (2-3) and Kate Landry (4,5,6) are excited to be returning, as are our specials teachers - Joy Keddy (Library), Jennifer Lyon (Guidance), Catherine Kondi (Music), and Stacie Roberts (PE/Wellness).

Our school building has been cleaned top to bottom, and we have brand new paving in our driveway and parking area.  Mr. Shane Cloutier has been working on completing our outdoor classroom gazebo and it will be ready to use on the first day of school!   Computers are being serviced and updated, and supplies are arriving daily.

Again, our first day of school is Tuesday, August 31.  The building opens at 7:30 AM and the staff and I will be on hand to welcome the students.  Berry Transportation should be reaching out to students who live on the bus with projected pick-up times, and to remind those students who ride the bus that the CDC and NH DHHS have made masks mandatory on school busses as they are considered public transportation.   Our district will follow the SAU 58 Back to School Plan ( that can be found at the SAU 58 website.  Presently we are in the “Green Zone” where mask wearing is optional - but we do ask that you send a clean mask to school with your child in case we cannot maintain adequate social-distancing (3-6 feet).

Finally, please mark your calendars for two upcoming events.  Wednesday, September 22 is a full day off for students as it is a professional development day for all teachers and staff (this is a change in the original calendar), and Tuesday, October 5 is School Picture Day at each of our SAU 58 schools.

Also, attached please find a “More Than a Meal” flyer about our 2021-22 Meal Application.  I urge each of you to download and complete the application, and return it in a sealed envelope to our school or SAU Office, as it affects federal funding formula and grant allocations that may provide students with essential programs and support that would otherwise be paid for through local taxes.  You should update this information anytime employment or household status changes throughout the year.  Your help with this is greatly appreciated and all information is highly confidential.

I look forward to a great school year and am excited to see our students on August 31!   Please contact me at school if you have any questions or concerns before then.
