IMPORTANT - NEW - IN PERSON - COURSE OFFERINGS AT NADP!!!

Good afternoon, everyone.   I hope you are all safe and healthy!

You are receiving this email if you are a current student of the Northumberland Adult Diploma program, you are the emergency contact of a student at the NADP, or you have expressed interest in the program we offer here at GHS to earn an alternative high school diploma.

We are excited to offer some NEW in person courses, starting on Tuesday, March 8 here at Groveton High School.  These courses are 10 weeks long, ending the week of May 17.  The courses we are offering are:
  • Economics on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 - 4:30 PM, taught by one of our social studies teachers, Mr. Caleb Murphy
  • Careers Explorations on Wednesdays from 3 - 6 PM, taught by our School Counselor, Mrs. Kelley Maclean
  • In-Person Math on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 - 6:15, taught by our one of our High School Mathematics teachers, Mrs. Lisa Guay
**We will be adhering to the Coronavirus social distancing protocols as outlined by the CDC.  Masks are required for entrance and movement with in the classroom, as well as when social distancing of less than 6 feet is possible.  All precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of our teachers and students.**

These courses REQUIRE registration BY TUESDAY, MARCH 2, and attendance will be mandatory - with exceptions made for illness as put forth by the CDC due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

If you would like to find out more information about these IN PERSON COURSES, taught by an expert in his or her field here at GHS, please reach out to me ASAP!!

We are offering in person courses to our students this spring because students had expressed a need for an in-person option vs. doing these courses online using our PLATO software.
  • Economics is a GRADUATION REQUIREMENT!!  ALL students that graduate from the NADP need it, so this is a great alternative to doing it online on PLATO.
  • The Careers Explorations class will work with students to explore career options, build resumes, brush up on job interviewing skills, and so on.
  • Math is really difficult for people to learn online - and this class will build math skills, understanding of basic concepts, have students solve real life mathematics problems, and hopefully relieve some stress about learning mathematics in an alternative learning environment.
PLEASE contact me ASAP to register, get more information about these courses, or ask any other questions you have about your own personal status in the program!
I look forward to hearing back from you all!
