One of our very own 3rd Grade students, Mary participated in the Dream Maker National Talent Competition Regional Tour in Connecticut this past weekend! She received 5 stars and 1st Place in her Category! She also received a special judges award called "Safari Swagger." Her classmates were able to watch a recording of her dance and they were so proud of her! Our halls are filled with a variety of young talent! Congrats Mary!

Cyrus, Kade, and Juliana helping Mr. Wheelock collect all the trash bins on the 2nd floor. Students go to each learning space collect, re-bag, and tie-off to help out Mr. Wheelock. The 5th grade does this every afternoon as a way to take ownership over their physical space and contribute to their school community.
Last week on our Iditarod Day, Juliana presented her timeline and display. We learned her favorite book series are the "I Survive" books and her favorite movie is Hocus Pocus. Juliana shared the baby blanket she came home in and even her ultrasound pictures. She did a wonderful sharing special events in her life and special artifacts. Great job!

Session 2 of enrichment in Mrs. Wells Grade 1 classroom, invited students to try out ways to make the bridge they had built in Session 1 more stable. After attempt #1 with popsicle sticks about an inch apart, the bridge held 7 washers before collapsing. The students pushed the popsicle sticks together and tried again. After attempt #2, the bridge held 11 washers. The students thought maybe adding a second layer of popsicle sticks would help the bridge hold more weight. The bridge held 9 washers for the last attempt. The students wondered if the added weight of the second layer of popsicle sticks caused the bridge to collapse with less washers.
