We’re scaling things back a bit this year, but our hearts remain just as full of gratitude. Join us in honoring those who’ve served, in a new location with a slightly different feel , but the same deep respect and appreciation.

At Groveton Elementary, mornings are always full of energy, but there’s something extra special about the mornings we get to share with our families. That’s why we’re so excited about English Muffins with Eagles, our Title One breakfast event!

This isn’t just any breakfast. It’s a morning where parents and children come together to learn, explore, and connect. Families will participate in engaging activities designed to support learning at home, receive helpful resources and materials, and enjoy time together in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

The goal is simple: to strengthen family bonds, encourage conversation, and make learning a shared experience. Whether it’s mixing up a quick reading game, discovering fun ways to practice math, or simply sharing a laugh over breakfast, every moment is a chance to grow together.

We can’t wait to see our Eagles and their families at this special event—because at GES, we believe that learning is more meaningful when it’s a family affair!

On Wednesday, October 1st, we are excited to welcome families into GES for our annual Open House from 5:30–6:30 PM. This is always such a special evening where our students get to proudly share their classrooms, show off their work, and introduce their families to the teachers and staff who support them each day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate learning, and strengthen the relationships that make our Eagle community so strong.

Adding to the excitement, our Scholastic Book Fair will also be open! Students and families can explore shelves full of books, discover new favorites, and maybe even spark a new love of reading together. It’s the perfect way to combine the joy of learning with the fun of choosing that “just right” book.

We look forward to seeing our families fill the halls with smiles, conversation, and pride. Open House is more than just an event, it’s a chance to build positive memories, share in the successes of our Eagles, and celebrate all the wonderful things happening at GES.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
Parade Drop Off Information
Parade drop-off will begin at 6:45 PM on the GES playground. Caregivers should remain with their students until a strong staff presence is visible on the playground. In past years, some parents have chosen to walk alongside us in the parade, while others have met us at a stop closer to the end of the route. Either option works. Thank you for helping us keep the parade safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.

Parade Dismissal Information
At the conclusion of the homecoming parade, students will gather at our designated dismissal area. Each grade level will stand together, clearly marked by staff holding large, visible signs. Students must remain with their grade-level group until they are checked out by a staff member. Parents should approach their child’s group to make direct contact with the supervising staff member before a student is released. For safety, students will not be allowed to leave on their own or meet parents at another location. If someone other than a parent is picking up a child, prior written permission must be provided. Staff will remain with students until all children have been dismissed.
