Dear Groveton High School Families,
It is an honor and a pleasure to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer break. I am extremely proud to serve as your new Principal of this amazing school community. Everyone I have met has been warm and welcoming and I am excited for the year to begin. This year GHS will be focusing on culture and climate initiatives and working towards becoming a united front in all aspects of what it means to be an Eagle!

Academic Updates:
The dedicated staff at GHS worked with New Hampshire Learning Institute (NHLI) and Demonstrated Success during the 2024-2025 school year. This year both the middle and high school have new grading systems that are outlined in the Parent-Student Handbook. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the changes and if you have any questions, please contact the Guidance office. One of our primary goals is to ensure student proficiency in core academic subjects. We will continue to refine Tier I instruction, analyze data, and provide Tier II and III interventions with our new academic interventionist position to help students strive for academic success.
Additionally, we will place a strong focus on Restorative Justice practices concerning discipline and help infuse social and emotional support strategies into our students’ daily school experience. We will work together to create a solid foundation for our students so that they have the opportunity to become self-directed learners, critical thinkers, collaborative partners and responsible citizens.
Please encourage your child to become involved with clubs, extracurricular activities and/or athletics to help create a positive connection with the school. Studies show that becoming involved in school sports and activities can lead to higher rates of academic success and overall positive development. There is a strong correlation between extracurricular participation and improved grades, increased educational aspirations, and reduced absenteeism. It is our hope that GHS offers something for everyone!
Upcoming School Events:
Homecoming is early this year on September 12th and 13th. More information about the parade and game times will be forthcoming. We will also be holding our traditional Open House on September 18th from 5-6pm where I hope to meet as many of you as possible. I am looking for parent and community member volunteers who are interested in participating in monthly Parent/Community Roundtable Discussions to help guide the vision and mission of our school. This also is a chance for me to better understand the needs of the community and for you to get to know me better. If you are interested in participating in these discussions, please email me at p_frank@sau58.org. I would like to schedule our first meeting in October.
A large part of the GHS’ success can also be attributed to its active and engaged parents who are involved in the Booster Club. Please consider contributing to the Booster Club so that we can continue to fund engaging enrichment initiatives and much-needed supplemental equipment and supplies that will support teaching and learning this year. If you are interested in joining the Booster Club please contact the office for more details and contact information.
Back to School Information:
The first day of school is August 25, 2025. Students who are in Grades 6-7 will report to the cafeteria until 7:55 am. Students in Grades 8-12 can choose to wait in the alley or in the cafeteria. On the first day, all students will report to the gymnasium for a brief assembly and will be dismissed to their class advisories until 10 am. Students will receive another copy of their schedule from the Guidance Department the first day of school. We will be running on a delayed schedule after advisories. The school day ends at 2:37 pm.
Just a reminder we have a half day on Thursday, August 28th and no school on Friday, August 29th or Monday, September 1st (Labor Day). School will resume on Tuesday, September 2nd.
We are hoping to have all Chromebook permission slips returned no later than Thursday, August 28th for students to have their Chromebooks by the second week of school. Please make every effort to return permission slips by this date as most classes require and rely on the use of Chromebooks.
All Athletic information can be found on our FaceBook page and on this link: grovetoneagles.com We hope to see you at our first home game on September 5th! If you have any questions about GHS athletics, please contact Athletic Director Kelley Brown at k_brown@sau58.org.
WW Berry’s will be providing all bus route information online and in the local papers. If you have a question about bus transportation please call (603) 636-6100.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Abbey Group. Breakfast is $2.25 and Lunch is $3.25 for students. Free and reduced lunch forms will be sent home with students on the first day of school. We ask that all parents/guardians fill out the free and reduced lunch form even if you don’t think you qualify as the school receives state and federal funding as a direct result of the completion of these forms. Your participation in completing these forms helps the school immensely and we greatly appreciate your cooperation. Please note that all information is highly confidential.
School picture day is October 7th. Students will receive a school ID based on their picture, even if you do not purchase a picture package. Please make every effort to have your child attend this day so they will receive a school ID.
A strong partnership between home and school is essential for student success, and I encourage you to actively participate in your child’s education. The GHS staff is hard-working and committed to ensuring the success of your child. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or stop by the office as my door is always open. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of your child’s educational journey. It truly is an honor and a privilege. I look forward to meeting all of you soon.
Best regards,
Paula Frank
GHS Principal
